Routes and development
University BA/MA route
- You may operate in any of the following areas of practice, depending on your specialisms (adults/children): Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, Fostering & Adoption, Leaving Care, Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, Children with Disabilities, Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism, Hospital Teams, Safeguarding, Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
Graduate Trainee Scheme
- Post qualifying modules: Access to a range of post qualifying CPD opportunities
- Some modules may be dependent on experience and length of time qualified
Apprenticeship, Step Up to Social Work and Open University BA, MA, PG Dip
Student / Apprentice Social Workers and Newly Qualified Social Workers
- Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
- ASYE PQ module (40 credits towards masters)
Ongoing progression
- Post qualifying modules: Models of Leadership and Management; Induction, supervision and staff development in operational management; Managing risk managing change (may be dependent on experience and length of time qualified)
- Opportunities to develop leadership skills through becoming an Onsite Supervisor, Practice Educator, Mentor, ASYE Assessor, Apprentice Mentor (may be dependent on length of time qualified)
- Practice Supervisor Development Programme (may be dependent on experience and length of time qualified
- Organisational specific leadership and management programmes
- Opportunities to be involved in practitioner teaching and admission assessment days
