Suffolk and Norfolk Social Work Teaching Partnership Social Workers named as finalists in Social Worker of the Year Awards 2023

The Social Worker of the Year Awards announced this year’s finalists on August 15, 2023.

Social workers from the Suffolk and Norfolk Social Work Teaching Partnership are included in this year’s shortlist.

 

The Social Worker of the Year Awards is the only major national awards event for social work in England.

 There will be 18 Awards as well as the Overall Social Worker of the Year.

Categories include Team Leader of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award and Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) of the Year.

 

The following colleagues from the Suffolk and Norfolk Social Work Teaching Partnership have been shortlisted:

  • Student Social Worker of the Year 2023 -Aravind Satheesh, University of East Anglia
  • Newly Qualified Adult Social Worker of the Year 2023 -Patrick Hamilton and Victoria Veale, Suffolk County Council
  • Team of the Year, Adult Services 2023 (including MDTs) -Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team, Suffolk County Council
  • Team of the Year, Children’s Services 2023 (including MDTs) -Make a Change, Suffolk County Council
  • Team Leader of the Year, Adult Services 2023 - Corinne Avery, Norfolk County Council and Suzanne Ladlow Suffolk County Council
  • Digital Transformation in Social Work Award 2023 - Suffolk County Council Digital Care Team

The winners will be revealed in November 2023 in London.  

The finalists were chosen by independent judging panels of young care leavers, social workers, industry leaders and people with lived experience of social work.
